Read

When I was sixteen, I got my first job at a bakery on our street. I worked on Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. At first, I was very nervous. I used to be shy, and I did not know the names of the breads.

The owner, Mrs. Parker, was kind and patient. She taught me everything: how to use the oven, how to talk to customers, and how to count money. One day, I sold fifty cakes for a school party. Mrs. Parker smiled and said, 'You are a real baker now.'

I worked at the bakery for two years. I earned $60 every week, and by the end, I bought a bike with my own money. I felt so proud.
