Shadow Me: My Morning Routine
Shadowing means listening and repeating at the same time, like an echo. Follow these eight lines about a morning routine and copy the rhythm and melody exactly. · A2 · Shadowing

How to practice: play a line, pause it in your head, and repeat it out loud at the same speed and rhythm — like a shadow. Line by line first, then the whole set without stopping.
1. I usually wake up at six thirty.
2. First, I make a big cup of coffee.
3. Then I check the weather on my phone.
4. I take a quick shower and get dressed.
5. For breakfast, I usually have eggs and toast.
6. I leave the house at about seven forty-five.
7. I take the bus to work every day.
8. By eight thirty, I’m at my desk and ready to start.

Your task
Play each line, pause, and repeat it three times: once slowly, once at full speed, and once while walking around the room. Then record all eight lines in one take without stopping.
Coach tips
- Copy the music, not just the words: notice how “wake UP” and “get DRESSED” go up at the end of chunks.
- Link the small words: “cup of coffee” flows as one smooth chunk.
- Shadow quietly the first time — almost a whisper — then grow louder each round.
