Signs and schedules give information fast — if you know how to look.

Read

Signs help us find information fast. At the library, a sign says: QUIET, PLEASE. On the store door, a sign says: OPEN FROM 9:00 TO 6:00. At the park, a sign says: NO DOGS ON THE GRASS.

Schedules help us too. The bus to school leaves at 7:30 and 8:00. The movie starts at 5:15. The English class is on Monday and Wednesday at 4:00.

When you read a sign or a schedule, you do not read every word. You look for the information you need.
