Say instead: “My teacher suggested that I read this book.” · B2 · Verb Forms

✗ Wrong

My teacher suggested me to read this book.

✓ Correct

My teacher suggested that I read this book.

Why?

Suggest does not take a person plus to plus a verb. Use suggest plus an -ing form: I suggest leaving early. Or use suggest that plus a clause: she suggested that we leave early.
