Subject: Question About the Scholarship Application Deadline

Dear Dr. Patel,

I am a junior majoring in economics, and I am applying for the College of Arts and Sciences scholarship. I am writing because I have a problem with one part of my application, and I wanted to ask for your advice.

The application requires an official transcript, which I requested from the registrar two weeks ago. Unfortunately, the registrar's office has told me that, because of a system update, my transcript will not be ready until three days after the application deadline.

Would it be possible to receive a short extension for submitting the transcript? I can submit every other part of the application — the application form, my personal statement, and both recommendation letters — by the original deadline. Only the transcript would arrive late.

Thank you for considering my request. I would be grateful for any guidance you can offer.

Sincerely,
Maria Gonzalez
