Repeat Set: Observatory Night

An astronomer welcomes visitors to a public observation night at the university observatory. — hear each sentence, repeat it aloud immediately, then record the full set and compare. Sentences grow longer on purpose.

1. Tonight we will observe the full moon.

2. Telescopes are set up on the hill behind us.

3. Please allow your eyes a few minutes to adjust to darkness.

4. Red flashlights are provided tonight because bright white light ruins your night vision.

5. Later this evening, we will turn the largest telescope toward the rings of Saturn.

6. If the clouds stay away, you may also see the bright band of the Milky Way overhead.

7. Before you go, our astronomers will answer your questions about the planets, the stars, and the deep-space photographs on display inside.

🎙 Practice recorder

Record your answer, play it back, and compare it with the model. Recordings stay in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

Method: one sentence at a time — listen once, repeat from memory (do not read while repeating), then check the text. Only read the sentences before your FIRST listen if you are at Foundation level.
