TOEFL Study Plans — Five Preparation Paths

Choose by where you are, not where you wish you were. If you are unsure, the diagnostic places you: under 50% in most areas → Foundation; 50–70% → Intermediate; 70%+ → Upper-Intermediate or Advanced. If your test is within four weeks, add the Intensive rules on top of your level path.

A2–B1

Beginner TOEFL Foundation

Your English is still general, not academic. This path builds the base the test stands on before any test tricks.

B1–B2

TOEFL Intermediate

You understand everyday English well. Now you convert it into academic English and learn how the test asks questions.

TOEFL Upper-Intermediate

Your skills are in place. This path is about precision under time pressure and the adaptive second module.

Open
B2+–C1

TOEFL Advanced

You are chasing top bands (5.0+). The work is refinement: speed, nuance, and zero easy mistakes.

TOEFL Intensive Preparation

Your test date is close. This path triages: highest-value fixes first, full simulations weekly, no new theory marathons.

How the paths connect

Each path ends where the next begins: Foundation feeds Intermediate, Intermediate feeds Upper-Intermediate, and so on. Every path uses the same site systems — the 58-lesson grammar course, the vocabulary system, section lessons and the practice engine — sequenced differently. Your progress dashboard tells you what to study next inside your path.

No path promises a specific score. Bands depend on your starting level, practice quality and test-day performance; any site that guarantees a band is not being honest with you.
